ABOUT CMR

The Center for Macroeconomic Research (CMR) at Xiamen University was established in September 2001, which is a research institution that musters up research faculties and reorganizes research resources from the discipline of Economics at Xiamen University to engage in macroeconomic study. The CMR was approved to become one of the key research institutes of the Ministry of Education (MOE) in February 2005 and granted as one of the Project 985 innovation bases (the second group),“Macroeconomic Analysis and Forecast” , in 2005. The CMR has been engaged in the research of macroeconomic analysis and forecasting and is also one of the important research units of Paula and Gregory Chow Institute for Studies in Economics,Xiamen University.

The CMR has been laying its primary research emphases on two domains: macroeconomic theory and policy analysis, and macroeconomic model developing and forecasts for the Chinese economy. With continued efforts, the CMR has produced a series of high-level integrated researches, such as China’s Quarterly Macroeconomic Model (CQMM), regularly publishing China’s macroeconomic annual analysis reports in Chinese, Macroeconomic Research Series at Xiamen University (including monographs, dissertations and research reports). The CMR has been and will continue to serve as a competitive research platform for the development of the discipline of Economics in Xiamen University, and contribute to the progress of economic study in China.
